Very special service and a super view
“If you could only bottle the service this hotel would take over the world. We had a spectacular view, a clean modern room with a comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast. The manageress/owner was a pleasure to deal with.”
Best Views in Switzerland
“We spent 2 days at the Alfa. The hotel was clean and looks as though it may have just been updated. The room was somewhat small, although that may be because we spent so much time in it. It rained on and off both days we were there. The view from the balcony is spectacular! Surrounded by mountains, some with snow on them, and the lake. Its incredible! The breakfast buffet was good. […] Overall the hotel is a great value compared to the rest of Switzerland.”
Great value
“We only had time on our tour for 1 night at this lovely hotel booked on the strength of other reviews. Glad we did as our stay was excellent. Nice room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful especially Mira. Breakfast was lovely and you overlook the lake. This probably represents the best value hotel we had on our tour.”
Fantastic view
“The view on Lake Uri was superb! We loved the balcony and enjoyed the views. The room was spotless clean, smelled fresh and was cosy, with wooden furniture and nice decorations. To us, it was perfect. The bathroom was also clean, with bathtub and shower. The free wifi was good. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast (only cold items) was very sufficient. We have been to Brunnen before, but this was our first stay in Hotel Schmid & Alfa, but it will be our first choice next time. We had a great stay!”

Lovely view, lovely staff, lovely vacation
“We had booked a ‘room with a lake view’ and that’s exactly what we got, we opened our windows and looked right out onto the beautiful lake! The hotel room was very comfortable and well furnished. The breakfast buffet was delightful and included everything we could possibly want, including linzertorte and other goodies with the cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruit, muesli, and yogurt. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.”

“The lady who runs it is a diamond, we were on our motorbikes and she was so helpful. We stayed in a newly refurbished room overlooking the lake – awesome.”

“Comfortable bed and stunning lake view. Excellent location. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner one night in the hotel’s restaurant “Schmid Stuebli”. We recommend a stay with half-pension (i.e. breakfast and dinner included with stay).”
